The iconic community BBQ is not only a great Australian fundraiser, it’s the water cooler of many sporting clubs and charities alike. It’s where parents gather while their kids battle it out in training and competition, new comers linger to become initiated and the heart and soul of many not-for-profit groups.

The old Torquay Life Saving Club BBQ Trailer had seen many adventures over the years, including a sneaky trip to Waurn Ponds when an optimistic thief thought they could make their fortune sizzling sausages on the run. Fortunately, the old trailer was spotted by a community member and brought back home, if only it could talk.

As TSLSC prepared to retire the old trailer, their wishes were answered with the generous sponsorship of club member Scott Dell from Aussie BBQ Cleaning, gifting the club a brand new customer made trailer, with all the bells and whistles.

‘My family and I have been club members for many years and I’d been looking for a way to give back to the club,’ Scott Dell owner of Aussie BBQ Cleaning.

‘It worked out perfectly, the club needed a BBQ trailer, my business specialises in BBQ cleaning, maintenance and repairs – it’s a natural fit.’

With additional support from the Torquay Lions Club and the crew at MCG Signs installing some new artwork, the new TSLSC BBQ Trailer is ready for some serious sausage sizzling and egg and bacon action this summer, to raise much needed funds for the life saving patrol on the Torquay beach.
